Makes for a quick memorable stop along the way.Pics with the statue and browsing through the Superman themed town was fun. Including lunch, We spent about 2 hours in Metropolis on our way to Nashville. It seemed a little lame at first, but realized later how many people I told about the stop from the gas station to the statue, street names, shop and pictures we took. It really was a fun quick stop.

Not a lot to see other than a couple of small shops, but just the Superman statue itself was well worth the quick trip into town from the interstate. Who couldn't love a 12-foot Man of Steel? Very fun but you probably won't spend a lot of time here.

Great for kids... lots of shops around. Everything is within walking distance. We stayed at the Riverview Mansion so we could be close to all the attractions

It was really neat and well kept...easy to get to and signage everywhere in terms of direction...plenty of parking and other attractions to go with it

The statue and 2 boards to stand behind then very small shop nearby are the main attractions. Not enough to entertain an adult but young kids may be amused.

They also have a couple of props near the large statue you can stand behind and be Superman or a Superwoman. Fun for the family.

My wife and I stayed in Metroplis on the last leg of a road trip from Florida. Had a nice dinner and a little good luck at the casino and a good night's rest. Before hitting the highway the next morning we stopped to visit the Superman statue and other attractions in the small town square. If you are even just familiar with the story of Superman this is a must stop! Huge, huge, huge statue of Superman! Cute little gift shop, museum and several just plain fun things to look at. Make sure to take in the Lois Lane statue just 2 blocks away. In the summer the town has a festival and several fun activities. Would like to check that out sometime. All in all a great little visit to the home town of Superman and The Daily Planet!

If you are into it you'll really enjoy seeing the huge statue of the man of steel. That and the cutouts on the street for photo purposes

Yes, it's only a statue of Superman. Only the hugest most AWESOME statue of Superman! My boyfriend and I drove an hour and a half to take photos by the statue and visit the Super Museum. Was it worth it? Absolutely! Granted, it may not be a destination for everyone, but if you're a real comic fan, you know, the geeky kind that look forward to Comiccon ( like us), you will enjoy yor time and take some memorable photos,

I'm not sure what the negative reviews for this statue are about. Yes it's just a statue, but that's all it's advertised to be. And, as far as statues go, it's a pretty nice one - no visible wear and tear - with parking and places to get pictures. In the area is also an interactive map of the area, some places to get your picture as "superman" or "superwoman," and an iconic phone booth for pictures. If you're a superman fan or just looking for something free and interesting to see this is definitely worth a stop.

Our room was large and very comfortable. The rate we received was exceptional. Nothing to dislike about our stay.

The town has such potential...almost a "Radiator Springs" (before) type of vibe! But the Superman sights are corny, to say the least.

Really not much to see but it is something to be able to say been there done that. So if you are in metropolis. Take the kids or in my case the big kid. AKA the hubby over and take some pictures with the giant Superman statue. Now you've been there and done that.
