We did the "Pyramid des Crus" tasting which included 4 whites and 4 reds for 20 euros. This tasting allowed us to try some excellent AOC régionale, communale, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines (ranging from about 10 euros to 50 euros/bottle). Thierry is highly knowledgeable and took the time to answer our questions, explain the characteristics of the AOC and show us on the maps the origin of the wines. There is also a variety free educational brochures to take home from the Burgundy Wine Council in English and French. We spend over 2.5 hours tasting and enjoyed every moment. Highly recommend Millésimes à la Carte!

This place is a little out of town but certainly worth the trip. They have over 40 wines on tasting and there are different "menus" on how to taste. For example you can taste a variety of Grand Cru, or a selection of different wines from the same grape variety etc. Thierry certainly knows his stuff!!

Excellent way of tasting a range of all the Burgundy wine types from Maconnais through Cote de Beaune up to Chablis, expertly guided by Thierry Prat, a well-known figure in Beaune wine. His wines are chosen to give outstanding examples of the AOCs at a wide range of prices. The prepaid cards allow visitors to choose themselves the wines to taste, but Thierry, who speaks excellent English, will advise, depending on the visitor's preferences. We wanted to taste dry white Burgundies at a reasonable price. Thierry offered 5 beautiful wines between 15 and 20 euros, a Chablis, a Rully,a Montagny. a Pouilly-Fuisse and a St Aubin, mainly 1r cru.We have visited Burgundy for 15 years and this tasting saved us much time and trouble in finding great wines at good prices, with excellent tasting advice and recommendations on keeping times. Next year we will add reds to our tasting menu.

Thanks for your kind appreciation about your wonderful time tasting at "Millésimes à la Carte". I really enjoy sharing my knowledge about Burgundy wines and region in order to offer anyone -wether amateur or professional- an unforgettable experience of his visit.I am disapointed you didn't received my answer to your mail which was sent by return mail the day after. May be this was treated as a Spam. Whatever, I have sent you a copy and hope you will finally get it.

I have visited Beaune before and been to a number of the local vineyards to taste and buy. It can be great fun but there are two problems. Firstly, you are there so that at the end of the visit you can buy some wine. Secondly, there is so much wine to taste in Beaune and the surrounding area that you might have to visit for many years before you can narrow down, exactly what you really like (and wish to buy). Both of these problems are solved by Millesimes a la Carte - you can try a huge variety from the very expensive to the more modestly priced. The guy in charge, Thierry, is naturally hugely passionate about what the local vineyards produce - the difference here, is that he is trying to help you find what you like and not trying to sell you a particular wine for which he is paid commission. You are also getting the benefit of many decades worth of professional wine buying experience for free. Finally you do not have to taste anything! You can just visit for free (important if you are a driver for your party) and still have the benefit of a 'masterclass' from Thierry, just learning about all the yummy bottles, as he expertly takes you on a virtual tour of the local vineyards. If you are in Beaune and you like your wine - you owe it yourself not to leave without going to this place.

If you are travelling to Beaune and want to sample some of the local 'oenological' produce you have two choices. You can either go to one of the numerous 'caves' tied to one of the local producers. That would be a great way to spend an afternoon. However, if time is limited and you want some independent advice, and the chance to try a MUCH wider variety of what the region has to offer, there is only ONE choice Millesimes a la carte. Thierry who runs the place had the brilliant idea of bringing together a wide range of wine in one tasting salon. He has worked in the wine trade for decades and knows most f the local producers and their produce. He showcases their wines with a passion and is justifiably very proud of what local producers have to offer. The difference is that in one offer noon you have the chance to really find out what you like by tasting a huge range, some of which ,in my case, I might never be able to afford a case of. The atmosphere is much more relaxed because Thierry is not tied to any single producers and his job is really to let you taste as many as you have time for and make up your own mind about what you like. If you want to buy he can naturally help there but as you'll have paid for the tasting, he's not actively giving you the hard sell. Also because you've paid for the tasting you are not left feeling slightly sheepish as might be the case in a local producer's cellar when you decide to push off without buying anything. I'm not a wine expert but I learnt more in afternoon with Thierry's assistance than I have from dozens of top sommeliers. Definitely should be on your list if you visit Beaune and like your wine.

We visited Millesime a la Carte in June 2013 after tasting wines in similar establishments in Poitiers, Albi and Bordeaux. Thierry was a wonderful host and led us through two days of informed, amazing tastings. Day one was devoted to pinots, and we were fortunate to be able to compare not only pinots from different regions, but also pinots from the same maker with 10 years separating the vintages. Day two saw us revelling in the grand cru experience, tasting wines we had only read about. We learnt so much under the guidance of our wonderful host, Thierry. We focussed on reds during our visit but Thierry has the full range, not only in variety, but also in price. The short trip ( 5 minutes ) by car or taxi from the centre of town is well worth the effort. Where else could you taste grand cru wines such as Chambertin, Bougros, Corton-Charlemagne, Batard Montrachet, Clos Vougeot, Echezeaux and Corton in one place, on one afternoon, with expert tutelage? It is very cheap per taste, and you decide how many millilitres you would like of each wine and how much you want to spend. A great experience for both novices and experts. Being from Australia and not having the knowledge of the overwhelming number of domaines, or chateau's of the cote d'Or Millesimes a la carte allows you to taste a range of whites and reds from around the region, spreading from Macon in the south to Chablis in the north. There are flights that you can select, or just go about it yourself at your own pace - (each pour is measured and priced using the enotheque system). The owner Thierry is great and very helpful and willing to answer any questions you may have. There are many grand cru's on tasting and it was a great way to compare and contrast the different regions and appellations of a few select vineyards.Highly recommended

I had a great wine tasting experience here! A wide range of burgundy wine. It is also the only place I could find in burgundy that offer several Grand Cru for tasting at a good price! The owner who was a winemaker in burgundy before is a great person to talk to for getting a good knowledge of burgundy wine.I enjoyed it very much! Absolutely worth going!
